Calling all Eaton County 8th to 12th grade youth...Do you like to creatively express yourself? Would you like to learn about resilience and what it takes to cultivate it? Are you eager to meet other Eaton County teens and have fun advocating for healthier communities?
We are asking you (youth in grades 8 to 12 in Eaton County) to let us know what inspires you to be healthy and resilient amidst life's challenges? What supports you in reaching for your dreams? What can your communities do to better support you in being resilient? You are invited to participate in a unique photography and resilience-building project called "Picturing Resilience" to express your viewpoints and to help us answer these questions.
Join with other teens in capturing pictures and telling stories about the issues that matter most to you related to youth health, wellness and mental health (including but not limited to self-esteem, bullying, suicide, teen depression, substance use, violence, dating, grades, extra curricular activities, setting goals, making friends, pursuing dreams and being happy).
You will have the opportunity to use your photos and captions to inform decision makers and the community about what teens most need to be healthy and well. In the process, we will teach you skills to cultivate resilience in your personal lives to combat teen stress.
